Castle Model
The Castle Model project has been in the making since 2018. There have been many versions of the model during that time. It has had many changes as we discovered more information about the castle. I am now at a point, thanks to the 2021 resistivity survey, where I am quite satisfied with the layout of the castle.
I am in the process of building a second model which is best described as the 'Bourne castle - through the ages'. It is also our intention to build a 'N' gauge castle which we hope will be housed in an education centre somewhere in Bourne. If you would like to offer assistance, or materials for this project please email, bournehistory@hotmail.com

Castle Information Signs
and Outdoor Model
Now that we have investigated and collated all the known castle information, the next logical step is to make sure that the Wellhead site has the relevant information boards for residents/visitors. We also intend to make a faux - bronze model of the castle to display at the Wellhead ground, similar to the one in Oakham and Lincoln castle.
We also have an update on information boards for the castle site. After many years of liasing with Trevor Hollinshead (Bourne United Charities) for Information Signs there has been a new appointment of Susan Bennett and Anna Rogers who have been tasked with making this a reality. I can say that both Susan and Anna are moving heaven and earth in delivering this wonderful addition for the community of Bourne. More details to follow...

History on your Doorstep
History on your Doorstep is a project, or scheme, which individuals/property owners can join. We will provide information boards which can be displayed at the front of their property, or window, shop window, etc. The information board will contain information of local history. We hope to involve local schools to help design each individual boards and that this will be a great community project . The location of the boards will be set out as a trail to encourage healthy walking and for residents/visitors to learn more about our local history. If you would like to sign up to the scheme, sponsor a board, or would like more information, please email, bournehistory@hotmail.com
